What texts do you find helpful or valuable?

I maintain a national media literacy web site: The Media Literacy Clearinghouse, www.frankwbaker.com, and I have a visual literacy page with various resources, including texts. I am interested in what texts you find useful, especially with K-12 students. Thanks !

Good stuff! Feel free to post it here as well. Many of the future posts I have scheduled echo your information.

Tim, Thanks. Recently I authored a short piece, posted on my website, about using Civil Rights photographs in the classroom. The piece came about after my visit to an exhibit of photos at the High Museum in Atlanta. Here is the URL: http://www.frankwbaker.com/mlk_vislit.htm I would be interested in your, and others, feedback.

I asked you to join us specifically for that reason. My intent is to attract a variety of experts in the field of visual learning/teaching, particularly in the areas of critical visual thinking, brain compatible strategies, media literacy, and of course, visual literacy. As the membership of this site grows, I hope to see a plethora of recommended texts, strategies and ongoing forums on topics educators need to know. I appreciate your interest and knowledge.
